For many years, I've struggled to focus on what's essential, often straying and losing sight of what propels me forward. My journey hasn't been devoid of success, but as Simon Sinek eloquently articulates in his latest book, The Infinite Game, there are different shades of success. You can either play the finite or infinite game, where the ultimate goal is to evolve into a better version of yourself. I'm striving to rediscover the latter.
This also entails reclaiming my much-needed writing zone. I've always understood the significance of this, but a lack of clarity has sometimes dampened my inspiration. Yet, there's always been this persistent urge to write, as I have many thoughts waiting to fill the voids in my life. This is a sincere endeavor to overcome life's hurdles and write - to become a formidable player in the infinite game.
A New Start
As I wrote in my last post, "A New Start," I have been caught in the glorification of busyness. That has led me to stray away, forget what's needed for me to thrive, and be guided by a loud inner voice. With too much to do over a long time, I have become fragmented into too many pieces.
I am on a new journey where the focus is on my inner compass to rediscover my Why and find balance. A big part of this is to invest my time deliberately, with writing as a central part of the journey. It will help me connect with my voice and inspire a more infinite mindset.
It takes courage to step back and review what I'm doing. But it will give me energy and a clearer vision when I look at things from other angles to gain a new perspective - with an infinite mindset in mind.
A New Focus
As in life, if you lose your focus, you will, as Bilbo would put it: -"I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread." restarting my writing with the things closest to my heart makes sense - so there will be two main themes on the blog.
The first is leadership: This will recap and start from a series of blog posts I wrote some time ago about leading as a guide. I still find them relevant, especially when authentic leadership is scarce. They will explore what it takes to dare to be a leader with an infinite mindset. It will also cover musings and observations from my day-to-day life as CTO.
The second will be about productivity, which has always interested me. As a leader in a high-performing environment, finding ways to get things done smarter is essential, as it frees up my most valuable asset - time. This gives me space to connect the dots to move my organization forward and myself upward.
The third is about business development and building a successful business that will stand the test of time.
In a coming blog post, I will set three words to focus on for the year. I have done this before and found it helpful, so I will pick up the habit again to have something to guide me along the way. Do you have any guiding words for the year? Welcome to my journey, and feel free to contact me and share yours!
